 Missions

Missions Statement:
       

• Solid Rock will be a “Great Commission” church, in which every church member is challenged to minister to and support Missionaries called by the Holy Spirit to disciple the lost in areas of the world beyond the typical reach of our local body. 
   
• “Great Commission” Definition - Matthew 28:18-20 describes a Great Commission church as one committed to making disciples (fully-devoted followers) locally and internationally.  Unlike a church with a missions committee, in a Great Commission church, all the members own and participate in the task of world evangelism.
   

Missions Verse:

• Acts 1:8 – But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
   

Missions Team Goals:

• Educate the church on the importance of world missions in the local church.

  1. To be good stewards of the missions budget and make support proposals to the Elders.

  2. Provide opportunities for the church membership to be more involved in the missions experience.

  3. Create a desire for missions in the church and raise up our own Missionaries who we can send to the field.

  4. Build relationships with our Missionaries through:

• Regular communication with all church members

1. Organizing an annual missions conference

2. Short term missions project opportunities
